This is a deep massage technique using smooth basalt stones which retain the heat. It was pioneered in Arizona drawing on the ancient use of hot stones for healing ceremonies by Native American Indians culture.
The stones are bathed in warm water, anointed with oils and placed on key energy points on the body. The stones are then used for massage using traditional techniques to release muscular tension and balance the spirit. The subtle energies of the stones induce a feeling of calm and well-being.
